Estonian Style Lace Knitting Taught by Denise Bell
12/7/12 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Meeting Room 104
The Estonian style of lacework involves several stitches, including nupps and starflowers, that many lace knitters are unfamiliar with or are intimidated by. Unlike a bobble, a nupp lies flat and has little surface disruption. A starflower begins with the same first step as the nupp, but rather than building inwards it blooms into an open feature. Students will see several examples of nupps and starflowers in finished projects

Set-in sleeves are the most flattering construction, but how to work them from the top down is not as obvious. This class will teach you how to do just that.
